Hello!

So, since the last pday was only 4 days ago, there's not whole lot to report on this week. BUT! Something exciting did happen! The church released the Christmas video for this year! The church's Christmas campaign this year is #LightTheWorld. IT'S SO GOOD! It's all about service and finding small acts of service to perform everyday of December up until Christmas. The church will release short videos every day of December to give people an idea of what small act of service they can perform for the day. My favorite part of the video is when it quotes John 8:12 - I am the light of the world and Matthew 5:14 - Ye are the light of the world. The first scripture references Christ, while the second scripture references all of us. We all have the Light of Christ within us! We all have the responsibility to love and lift others! I'm SO excited that the church has decided to focus the Christmas message this year on service! As Elder Robert D. Hales said in October conference, "As the Savior's latter-day disciples, we come unto Him by loving and serving God's children."

Now everyone, go watch the video at Mormon.org! And if you've already watched it, watch it again! https://www.mormon.org/christmas/light-the-world?play=hero

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So the biggest news that I have to tell from these past almost two weeks is that out investigator Tara committed to be baptized on January 21st! We went over on Wednesday last week and had a great lesson about the Restoration of the gospel! Since Tara has been reading the Book of Mormon, we asked her at the end of the lesson if she believed it to be true. With a smile on her face and no hesitation in her voice, she said yes! It was then that we asked her to be baptized, and again she said yes with no hesitation! It is SO COOL to see people changed by the gospel! Tara and Daniel, her returning member boyfriend, have begun a spiritual and physical transformation! The gospel even has the power to change people physically! Daniel and Tara both walk a little taller now and their faces are bright with the light of the gospel! THE CHURCH IS SO TRUE! AH!

That's about all I got for this week! We're off to play games with our relief society president and then Thanksgiving dinner at a member of the bishopric's house! I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

2 Nephi 9:52 - Behold, my beloved brethren, remember the words of your God; pray unto him continually by day, and give thanks unto his holy name by night. Let your hearts rejoice.

Love you all!

Hello all!

This week has been great! I know that I say that every week, but it's usually always true! And if it's not, I say that it is anyways because I am a happy person!

Okay, so the best event from this week wasssssss (drum roll) Austin's baptism! He looked SO happy! I know I've said it before but the gospel has created such a change in this kid! When I first met him, he was super shy, not very talkative and he didn't participate in the lessons very much. But now, he is beaming with happiness and has made so many good friends in the YSA ward! He talks all the time now and he is always cracking jokes! IT'S AWESOME! The baptism was very spiritual, which is great because he had a lot of nonmember family and friends there. It was a day of rejoicing for sure!

We are continuing to see miracles in this area as we work with the less active members. On Tuesday, Sister Hart and I were walking down the street when we heard this girl yell from her car, "Hey! Are you looking for me?" We weren't, but we didn't tell her that haha. Anyways, she asked if we could come to her house and teach her the discussions! I'm sure that you can all imagine how crazy our missionary brains were acting at this moment! So we followed her to her house and found out that she's a member of the church already and has been inactive for 3 years. She explained that all of her family members are active members of the church. She said that she feels like she is in a spot in her life where she can take the missionary discussions to try and find peace and understanding. It was way cool! We're going back on Tuesday to teach her!

Another miracle that happened that same day was when we visited an inactive member of our ward. At the end of our visit we asked him if he knew anyone who could use a message of Jesus Christ. He gave us the name of his friend Joel. So we went over to see Joel and we found out that he's attended church before! We asked him what his experience was like and he told us that he had passed out in the gym afterwards! But the best part is that he believes that experience to be a holy one! So we told him about the story of Alma the Younger in the Book of Mormon! We also talked to him about prayer and asked him if her believed that God answers prayers. He said no, so we told him about the story of Enos as well. He was really interested in both of those scriptural stories and we committed him to read them. We're going back on Tuesday!

So I'm pretty sure I told you all about Tara last week. Tara is the girlfriend of a returning less active member who started reading the Book of Mormon. This week we had dinner with her and Daniel and we taught them the plan of salvation. At the end of the lesson, Tara agreed to a soft baptismal invite! AHHH! SO COOL!!!! God is throwing miracles at us left and right!

Missionary work is awesome!

Hello!

I can't believe it's November already! It's crazy. Another great week has gone by! Sister Hart and I are working to find some new investigators. Our only progressing investigator is getting baptized on Saturday! Austin has come such a long way! The ward is very excited to see him get baptized!

We are teaching a lot of less-actives! Teaching them has been very fruitful! Most of them are progressing and returning to activity! It's so awesome! We also found out that one of our returning less active's nonmember girlfriend has started reading the Book of Mormon! She read to 2 Nephi in less than a week! He told us that she reads any chance she gets! We haven't started teaching her yet because she just wants to read for now. But, our member is anxious to have his girlfriend meet with us! We're seeing a lot miracles happen as we've started teaching the members!

Church yesterday was awesome! We had a combined third hour meeting with Kenneth Cope! Kenneth Cope is pretty popular LDS singer and songwriter. His music is really inspirational! He came and spoke to us and also sang for us! He was was very inspirational and he touched a lot of hearts. There were multiple people who approached him after the meeting to thank him, and a few of them had tears running down their faces. He spoke to us mostly about how we are children of God and that we have a divine and glorious future ahead of us. It was very cool that he talked about that, because earlier that morning I had come across 1 John 3:1-2 -- Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Behold, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Each of us has the divine potential to be like Christ! We see ourselves in terms of yesterday and today, but God sees us terms of forever and He knows of the incredible potential that we all have. I know that Heavenly Father loves each of us SO much, and He will always be there for us at all times.

Love you all!
Sister Hanna
